Meet Eric Weinstock, D.M.D.

Dr. Eric Weinstock earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 2000. Dr. Weinstock earned his Postgraduate Endodontics Certificate from the same institution. Prior to dental school, Dr. Weinstock received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brandeis University and a Juris Doctor degree from the Univeristy of Virginia School of Law.

In addition to working in private endodontic practice in Canton, MA, Dr. Weinstock serves as course director for the Ethics and Professionalism in Dentistry program at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Issues such as informed consent, patient autonomy, and ethical treatment are central themes of the course. Furthermore, Dr. Weinstock utilizes his background in the law to incorporate such concepts as standard of care, professional liability, and patient confidentiality into the course as well. In addition to teaching at Tufts, Dr. Weinstock is published and lectures frequently on topics related to the convergence of dentistry, ethics, and law. During his dental training, he received a Certificate of Merit from the Pierre Fauchard Academy and the Student Achievement Award in Endodontics. Dr. Weinstock was also the recipient of the Caulk Dentsply Student Research Group Award , and served as President of the Andrew-Bates Research Society.

Memberships in professional organizations provide Dr. Weinstock with the means to influence developments in his field, as well as a wider forum to improve patient care. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society, American Association of Endodontists, South Shore Dental Society, and the American College of Legal Medicine.

When Dr. Weinstock is not practicing endodontics, he enjoys tennis, basketball, running, screenwriting, reading and most of all spending quality time with his family.
